Hi Everyone, I am a Marysville, California native and have lived in the Sacramento Valley my entire life. However, I do hope to travel in the next few years and explore this amazing world in which we live. I am currently in my eighteenth year of teaching and have taught in several different educational levels, from 2nd grade through high school. I've also taught in Alternative Education at continuation schools and for juvenile hall.

I am now teaching adults who are pursuing their high school diploma at CICA. My current site is at St. Joseph’s Church in Marysville. It makes me so happy to be able to help adults in my home town reach their educational goals! I then get to watch many of them go on to start new careers.

I was almost forty years old when I began pursuing my dreams of becoming a teacher. I was also a single mother, raising three sons. I somehow mangaged to raise my boys while juggling two part-time jobs and full-time college. I can still remember MOST of those years. Some are a bit of a blur. I received my Associate of Arts degree from Yuba College, in Marysville. I then completed my Bachelor of Arts degree at Chico State University, while pursuing a degree in K-12 education, including a focus on environmental science. I completed studies for my K-12 Multiple Subject teaching credential at Chapman University in Yuba City.

For the past twenty years, I have also been actively involved with the Marysville American Indian Education program. I spent time tutoring elementary school students, participating in local PowWows, coaching archery, chaperoning trips to archery tournaments, and teaching Native American crafts. This was something I thoroughly enjoy being a part of and hope to continue to do so for years to come.

I plan to continue to be a “life-long” learner and to become a world traveler. I have always been naturally curious, and hungry for new knowledge and adventure. I enjoy spending time with my six grandchildren and one great grandson, teaching them how to cook, sew, garden, and care for animals. I spend my leisure time reading, watching old movies from my embarrassingly massive collection, sewing, baking, gardening, pursuing my photography hobby, and exploring the great outdoors. I especially enjoy hiking, horseback riding, and camping. I am also the proud "Mom" to a bunch of big dogs, some cats, and a beautiful horse that has no idea that she is a horse. We love our little farm in the foothills!
