About The Teacher
Erik Dean was born and raised in the Central Valley, and has done a little bit of everything over the years, ranging from lots of work in the construction industry to managing bars. He is also a Navy veteran, and served as a linguist in Georgia before returning to California. Now, Erik has a passion for teaching, and feels like being an Independent Study Teacher with CICA is the perfect career for him to make a positive impact on his community. Erik holds a B.A. in Communications/Professional Writing, an M.A. in Education/Curriculum and Instruction from UOP, and is triple-credentialed in English, Social Science, and Adult Education. He loves reggae and punk rock music, is a huge Star Wars geek, and enjoys spending time with his four children.
