All About ME :D
My name is Sunshine Vang and I am an independent study teacher at California Innovative Career Academy( CICA)! Being a part of the CICA’s family has been such a reward. I am blessed to have such an amazing group of students and peers. I look forward to growing with CICA to become a better and more innovative educator/mentor for my students and peers.
Before CICA, I was an ELD Teacher at Highlands Community Charter School. I taught multilevel and Level 2/3 English classes for EL students in Sacramento County.
I graduated from the University of the Pacific with a Master of Arts in Education and a credential in Multiple Subjects with a CLAD & EL Authorization. I completed my undergraduate at California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a minor in History.
Besides being an educator and having an education, I am a Mom to four little children. My husband and I have three boys and one little girl. We love to travel with our kids and take them on mini adventures on the weekends and holiday breaks. Our hobby as a family is building LEGO :)
One thing people don't know about me ( if they're not family ) is that I am also a big advocate for kids who have autism. I believe that kids who have autism need to have the opportunity to learn to succeed. My second son was diagnosed with moderate/severe autism when he was 3. Because of the challenge and growth we went through as a special family, I love teaching people in my circle about autism awareness and acceptance.
In my spare time, I enjoy arts and crafts. I love to use my Circuit machine to cut out vinyl and burnish designs on blanks. I also love to draw digital designs for my ABA adventures and print them out to help my son who has autism.
Thank you,
Sunshine Vang
